Recognize Your Locum Tenens Providers With These 4 Ideas

It’s National Locum Tenens Week! Led by the National Association of Locum Tenens Organization (NALTO) and first recognized in 2017, Locum Tenens Week has returned for the fourth consecutive year and is celebrated annually the second week of August. This week is designed to acknowledge the contributions of locum tenens providers in the communities they serve.

At Medicus Healthcare Solutions, we are proud to work with incredible providers and are excited to be celebrating their continued dedication to healthcare. These medical professionals have made a lasting impact by providing continuity of care to patients and their loved ones across the country.

Although celebrations may look a bit different this year due to COVID-19, there are a myriad of ways that others – including healthcare facilities and leaders of hospitals, health systems, clinics, and practices can take part in this weeklong celebration.

  1. Write a card: A short and sweet thank you note can certainly go a long way.
  2. Create a short “thank you” video: Ask fellow peers, administrators, leaders, and other permanent staff members to record a short video thanking locum tenens providers for their contributions.
  3. Small but impactful perks: There are several things you can do to make temporary providers feel special, but small acts of appreciation such as a VIP parking spot or a gift card to a favorite local restaurant or coffee shop are great ideas!
  4. Use #LocumTenensWeek in social media posts: No matter how you choose to recognize Locum Tenens Providers, be sure to use the hashtag during the week of August 10 – 14!

Celebrating National Locum Tenens Week 2020 is an excellent way to show your appreciation for the locum providers who help care for and support your community throughout the year.
