About Medicus

Bob Dickey, Chief Executive Officer of Medicus Healthcare Solutions, is a transformational leader with over three decades of staffing industry experience. Bob joined Medicus in August 2017 and oversees the firm's strategic growth and expansion, as well as day-to-day leadership and operations.

Prior to starting at Medicus, Bob served as Group President of Technology and Engineering at Randstad Technologies, one of the third-largest staffing firms in the United States. Bob’s reach extends beyond operating companies – he is committed to the overall staffing industry. Bob was named one of the most influential staffing leaders in the SIA 2023 Staffing 100 list. He is on the NALTO board of directors and was a board member of the New England Chapter of CEO’s Against Cancer, TechServe Alliance (TSA), and the Fidelity House Human Services (FHHS). He also served as an advisory member to GDH Workforce Solutions and has been a spokesperson and presenter at SIA, TechServe Alliance conferences, CEOs Against Cancer, local charity events, and a past guest on CNN Business.

Bob attended the University of San Diego, where he earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and received a Leadership – Professional Service Firms certificate from the Harvard Business School Executive Education program.

Steve Armstrong joined Medicus Healthcare Solutions in 2017 and serves as the company’s chief financial officer (CFO). He brings extensive experience in financial analysis in operations, investments, capital structure, and transactional due diligence.

Before joining Medicus, Steve served as CFO and treasurer for Premium Power Corporation/VIONX Energy Corporation, a venture-backed developer of utility-scale flow batteries. Before Premium Power Corporation, he spent nine years in public equity research as a portfolio manager and analyst covering the technology, medical device, and pharmaceutical sectors, among others.

Steve received his Master of Science degree in Finance from Boston College and Master of Science and Bachelor of Science degrees in Mechanical Engineering from Tufts University.

Heather joined Medicus in 2012 and held several leadership roles. In her current role as Chief People Officer, Heather oversees the People, Contracts, Credentialing, and State Licensing Teams. Heather promotes initiatives for equal opportunity and focuses on building a streamlined, positive work culture.

Throughout Heather's career, she has focused on strategic planning and policy, employee development, and risk management. Prior to starting at Medicus, Heather worked at St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children as a Contract Compliance Coordinator. Heather attended Villanova University in Pennsylvania, where she earned her Bachelor of Arts and Doctor of Law.

Tom McLain is the Chief Information Officer and member of the executive leadership team responsible for further advancing the position of the firm at the forefront of the industry. Responsible for digital transformation and leveraging technology, digital marketing, and process improvement to enable growth, drive operational efficiency and manage risk.

Tom has over 20 years of technology leadership experience. Prior to joining Medicus, he was Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer at BrightSphere Investment Group, a publicly traded investment management company with over $220 Billion in assets under management, where he was a member of the senior management team and responsible for all aspects of technology and global operational functions. Earlier in his career, he held various technology and consulting positions at Fidelity Investments, Keane, and IBM.

Tom is a graduate of Clarkson University where he earned both a B.S. degree in management information systems and an MBA.

Courtney has over 14 years of experience working with hospital administrators, federal government contractors, providers, and other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality, reliable solutions. She joined Medicus in 2008 and oversees the Government Services Division, VMS Delivery, and Fulfil Staffing. In addition, Courtney is on the Board of Directors for the National Association of Physician Recruiters (NAPR).

Joining Medicus in early 2018 as Strategic Account Director, Steve managed and developed relationships with some of our largest clients. In his current role, he leads a seasoned team and lives at the intersection of sales and delivery. Steve is responsible for ensuring a best-in-class physician, advanced practitioner, and client experience while supporting highly collaborative, long-term relationships.

John joined Medicus in 2020, bringing over 20 years of staffing experience with him. He oversees the Anesthesia, Family Medicine, Radiology, Surgery, Gastroenterology, and Specialty Services divisions at Medicus. John has managed over 50 Transition projects and continues to think outside of the box to solve each of our client’s unique staffing challenges.

Shannon has a successful track record of managing delivery teams to achieve our client’s unique staffing challenges. Shannon joined Medicus in 2012 and oversees the Anesthesia, Radiology, Psychiatry, and Specialty Services divisions at Medicus. In her role, she helps our clients manage changes in their physician and advanced practitioner workforce to ensure the communities they support have access to quality care.

Seth joined Medicus in 2022 and oversees our Strategic Accounts Division. He leads an amazing team who strives to make a difference with our clients and the communities we serve. Seth helps promote a relationship with our clients that is focused on proactive long-term planning and exceptional service. We work hard to think outside the box for each client – providing innovative solutions for our partners.

Grant is one of Medicus’ Co-Founders and has been with the company for 19 years.  Prior to Medicus, he held leadership positions in the information technology, professional services, and staffing industries. Grant helped to develop Medicus’ strategic services offerings and our go-to-market sales strategy. He oversees the Medicus sales organization and works with clients to deliver innovative healthcare staffing solutions to solve provider coverage challenges. 

Grant received his bachelor’s degree from Babson College in Wellesley, Massachusetts.

Dave has over 30 years of staffing experience. Dave manages our Hospital Medicine, Critical Care, Psychiatry, and Emergency Medicine divisions. In addition, he oversees Optimum Permanent Placement. In his role, he helps solve our client’s unique staffing challenges while creating trusted relationships.

Kim joined Medicus as a Recruiter on the Hospital Medicine team in 2008. Today she oversees delivery for the Hospital Medicine, Emergency Medicine, Critical Care, and Primary Care divisions. Kim connects qualified physicians and advanced practitioners with communities in need of medical care.

Joe founded Medicus Healthcare Solutions in January 2004. His initial goal was simple; he wanted to deliver better consulting and staffing services to healthcare organizations but in an innovative way. Today, Medicus is the 4th largest locum tenens staffing company in the US. But Joe is not done. In July 2020, he transitioned from the CEO to Executive Chairman. In his current role, he focuses on vision and value-enhancing strategic initiatives. He is an active Board Member and continues to be part of Medicus’ long-term business strategy and success.
